Default Banned back in January

Back in January I was banned for botting. Wrote a support ticket which was "promptly" answered, 3 months later.
Just read it today since i just gave up a couple of months later and guess what, it says the actions on my accounts were reversed, apologies and stuff.

BUT I'm still banned.

Did this happen to anybody else? I wrote a new ticket but if i'll have to wait another 3 months just f*** this lol.

The reason for this is that NCSoft support is an absolute disgrace. Over the past 10 years I've had around 4-5 issues and have been helped with absolutely none of them.

Frankly, I'm surprised you'd be banned in January because they stopped enforcing the EULA long before that so it must have been an automated termination i.e. not ratified by a human.

They will exclaim that support for original Guild Wars is "very limited" and attempt to excuse themselves. It still remains that they're selling their games and products through the NCSoft store and Steam and thus actively trading. While this might be legit in the USA I get the feeling that their current lack of service provision is not legal in the EU.

makosi, apparently you werent around earlier this year when one of the GM's got carried away and banned bunches of people (hundreds) with his new 'bot mod'....did it on a couple of tries....and most of the folks were eventually unbanned....but---

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/a...t10536365.html

OP, no idea why you are still banned....support has gotten a weeee bit better in the last few months, but still for this game its slow. Just keep updating your support ticket and they should get around to you, if you dont hear back in 7 days they do have a forum to post 'tickets older than 7 days' but you have to be able to log into their site (gw2 signon).

Thanks both for you answers, I just got a reply to my ticket, very fast I have to admit. Anyway, long story short, the GM said they make no mistakes when they ban people (lol) and that i was banned for good.

So I don't know why they apologized in the first place and told me i was free to log in, and I don't even know if he read my ticket beyond the first line.

Let's just have a laugh over this situation and move forward.

I think you are not alone in getting multiple responses from different GM's... (I think the thread I linked to has a bunch of others who had the same issue---).

At least you got a response (it took them over a month to get back to most of us the first time around, and some folks more than 3-4 months!), so I guess they have stepped up a bit on that end (at least).

and yeah, lol, they make no mistakes--and I am the queen of england

try explaining your problem on facebook, they may ask you what ticket it is
Stephane sometimes replies to that stuff, seen it happen before
signed with ~SL

they also have twitter, no idea how good or bad they are there

just make a message in the empty typing space on the Guild wars page.... not on another post there, that may not work well

I was around in January. It was when Motoko got banned then unbanned despite admitting to synching r15 hero.

Are they infallible or not? Do they unban or not? This thread makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

What is clear is that they have awful, untimely customer service with inadequately trained staff with little sense of consistency or quality.

I bet if you've got an issue with GW ot GW2 store transactions then you'll be at the top of the queue and you're problem will be resolved ASAP.

The red flags for ArenaNet were never syncing. That was never their primary concern. The "bot ban mod" was never a fix for syncing. That was due to:
1) JQ bots going crazy and tanking the price of Zkeys and
2) A good number of people had access to an altered client (Supposedly one that the GMs used) that allowed them to enter in arenas that no one else could and create situations that no one else could. These people weren't concerned with titles. These people were farming the hell out of this game making thousands and thousands of dollars. How do you think awful no name players like Silly Oo and Co. acquired the wealth that they have? It certainly wasn't by farming, power trading, or by performing at a peak level in the competitive scene. See: Scamming and Hacking.

As for your situation. I find it very odd that they would state you are un-banned and then not follow through with it. I have had a similar experience where I was told I was un-banned and then they forgot to follow through with it. When I reminded the support agent he apologized and corrected the mistake.

Over time since the January ban wave their support has improved. There is at least one individual that I have had communication with that speaks and responds like a person you would want to respond. Not that automated system crap. So I really think it comes down to the luck of the draw with what support agent you get.

Yes I had stuff un-banned. No not everything was un-banned. But my important stuff was. I still don't understand their methodology for un-banning one thing and not the other even if they are the exact same situation. All I know is I don't touch anything that could be considered malicious. It just isn't worth the loss.

I have been asked what my methods were, but I am not entirely sure the benefit of sharing those methods. I'd prefer to see this game active and enjoyed, but is it in the best interest of the game and its population to release those methods and potentially bring those ill benefited accounts back from the grave? If someone wants to make a poll for it I'd be interested in the response. Or if someone wants to show me how to make that poll I can do it.

Try again submitting a new ticket.
I got banned...all of my accounts...back in Jan for no reason. I sent in a ticket saying there must have been a mistake etc. I've never botted and they also said we make no mistakes. I replied saying wtf are you banning for now Windows OS? I literally use nothing else and they just said we are right your a bad girl etc and closed the ticket.
My boyfriend tried a new ticket for all of our accounts and we finally got unbanned.

There is also someone in my ally who claims that he tried to submit a ticket for an account he got banned back in '08 and got that unbanned too. I don't know how true that is though as I didn't know him back then. Really I think its just down to the support staff you get. Some are jobsworths, some don't seem to care too much.

I like the route it's heading to: from presenting non-existent "red" and "green" flag policies to plain requests on how to arrange "good-looking" lies. A shame any decent player of the past would have tried to avoid, but now it seems to be considered "right within the admissible"...
